Q: QuestionDoes this dryer have an anti-tangle feature like the GE profile preventing large items like comforters from bunching up which causes items not to dry evenly. I'm not a fan of having to stop the dryer just reposition bulky items for them to dry evenly.
Asked by Blackdragon79.
- A:Answer Hello there, thank you for reaching out! We understand your concern about bulky items like comforters bunching up in the dryer. The LG DLEX4000W dryer is equipped with AI Sensor Dry™ technology, which uses sensors to detect moisture levels and adjust drying time accordingly. This feature can help prevent over-drying and ensure even drying, but for larger items like comforters, there is no specific anti-tangle feature like the one found in some other models. To address this, we recommend using the Bedding cycle, which is designed to handle bulky items. While it may not eliminate the need for repositioning large items entirely, it helps optimize the drying process for comforters and other large laundry loads. Additionally, you can try the SteamFresh™ cycle, which can also help reduce wrinkles and aid in refreshing heavy fabrics. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlex4000w-front-load-electric-dryer#pdp_specs Please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport if you'd like more tailored advice or need further assistance. Q: QuestionHOW FAR CAN WE RUN THE VENT TO CONNECT TO THE OUTSIDE DUCT? DO WE NEED A FAN TO HELP WITH TH VENTING PROCESS IF ITS A LONG RUN? IF SO, HOW MANY CFM'S ARE REQUIRED?
Asked by BOCABERN.
- A:Answer Hi there. The LG DLEX4000W dryer is designed to be vented to the outside to ensure proper airflow and efficient drying performance. When it comes to venting the dryer, there are guidelines to follow to ensure effective venting over a long run. The recommended maximum vent length for the LG DLEX4000W dryer is 64 feet (19.5 meters). This measurement includes the straight vent length and any bends or elbows in the venting system. Longer vent runs can lead to reduced airflow and potential drying issues. To optimize the venting efficiency, it is best to minimize the number of bends, turns, and elbows in the venting system. Each bend or elbow can restrict airflow and may require additional length compensation. It is essential to use rigid or semi-rigid metal venting material rather than flexible plastic or foil venting. Metal venting offers better airflow and reduces the risk of lint buildup, which can be a fire hazard. Use a vent hood on the exterior of your home to prevent pests and debris from entering the vent. Ensure there is sufficient clearance around the vent hood to avoid obstruction. Regarding the need for a fan to help with venting on a long run, it depends on the specific setup and conditions. If the vent run is approaching or exceeding the recommended maximum length, and if there are many bends or elbows, a booster fan may be beneficial to enhance airflow. Booster fans are designed to improve the air movement through the venting system and can be installed in-line with the duct. The required CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) for a booster fan would depend on the specific venting configuration and the extent of the vent run. To determine the appropriate CFM rating for the booster fan, it is advisable to consult with a professional HVAC technician or a qualified appliance installer. They can assess the venting setup, consider any obstructions or restrictions, and recommend the suitable CFM rating for the booster fan based on the specific circumstances.
