  • QuestionIs the back flush? If not, how many inches does the protrusion extend past the back of the dryer?

    Asked by MollyE.

    • Answer Hi, Molly. Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the LG Dryer (DLEX6500W) model. To answer your question, the back of this unit is not completely flush. Like most high-capacity dryers, there is a slight protrusion to accommodate the venting internal components and the power cord connection. For tight spaces, position the unit near the wall by using a Side-Vent Kit or Periscope Vent. These options, unlike standard flexible ducts, enable the dryer to sit within 2 inches of the wall by directing airflow sideways or using a flat metal duct for smaller gaps. • QuestionWhat accessories are needed for installation.

    Asked by Chris.

    • Answer Hello, Chris. To generate steam for the steam functions, you will need to purchase a new water supply hose to connect the water inlet on the ENERGY STAR® Certified 7.4 cu. ft. Smart Front Load Electric Dryer with AI Sensor Dry & TurboSteam™ Technology, Model # DLEX6500B to a cold water supply line. Do not reuse old hoses. A 'Y' connector is included with the dryer that can be used to share the cold water supply line between the dryer and your washer. A power cord (pigtail) connection between the wall receptacle and the appliance terminal block IS NOT supplied with electric dryers so you will need to purchase that separately. Depending on your local codes, or in their absence, the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, you can use a 3-prong or 4-prong UL-listed power cord that must be connected to the dryer's terminal block...^Ivan.

  • Questionhow do I fill the Tru steam sensor dry

    Asked by Jo.

    • Answer Hi there, Jo. Thank you for reaching out. We understand your question about filling the TruSteam™ sensor dry on the LG DLEX6500B dryer. The TruSteam™ feature in this model is designed to help reduce wrinkles and refresh clothes by using steam. It's not something you "fill" manually. Instead, the dryer has a water reservoir that needs to be filled to activate the steam functions. Here's how you can do it: Locate the Water Reservoir: It’s usually at the top of the dryer. Fill the Reservoir: Open the compartment and fill it with clean water (do not use distilled water or any additives). Select Steam Cycle: Once the reservoir is filled, choose a cycle that uses the TruSteam™ feature, such as "SteamFresh™" or "SteamSanitary™" from the available programs. Once these steps are followed, your TruSteam™ should be ready to go! https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlex6500b-front-load-electric-dryer#pdp_specs If you continue to have issues or need further assistance, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and we'll be more than happy to assist you further. • QuestionNew home (second floor coach home in southwest Florida). First dryer load -- 80% vent blockage message. Builder checked the vent and it is clear. What next?

    Asked by Jen.

    • Answer Hi there! Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand that you’re seeing an 80% vent blockage message on your LG model DLEX5500V dryer, even though the builder has confirmed that the vent is clear. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take next: Check the Vent Hose: Ensure that the vent hose connected to the dryer is not kinked or crushed. A bent hose can restrict airflow and trigger blockage messages. Inspect the Dryer Exhaust: Make sure the exhaust vent, where the hose connects to the exterior of the home, is clear and free of obstructions. Sometimes, lint or debris can build up at this point. Clean the Lint Filter: Ensure the lint filter is clean and free of lint. A clogged lint filter can also affect the dryer’s performance. Verify Vent Installation: Confirm that the venting system is installed correctly and that all connections are secure. Improper installation can sometimes cause airflow issues. Reset the Dryer: Try resetting the dryer by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes clear false error messages. If the issue persists after these steps, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport. Our team will be more than happy to assist you further and help resolve the issue. • QuestionI read a lot of complaints for this dryer because of the very sensitive sensor causing the D80 error code. We have a long vent pipe, about 25' with 2 90 degree turns. Is this too long for the LG dryers. My current Samsung has no problem with it....

    Asked by Tulpje.

    • Answer Hi there! Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG DLEX5500V dryer. We understand that the D80 error code can be an issue, especially with a long vent pipe. Given your setup with 25 feet and two 90-degree turns, airflow may be restricted, causing the error. We recommend checking and cleaning the lint filter regularly and inspecting the vent system for blockages.
