  • QuestionHow does the steam function work? Do you need a water hookup to the dryer?

    Asked by Carolann.

    • Answer For this model, the dryer does need to be hooked up to a water line - there's a "Y" hose included so you can tee off the line for the washing machine. The function works by spraying steam into the dryer from a port on the back of the dryer. It seems to help with wrinkles and static the most.

  • QuestionSomeone gave me the part number for the propane conversion kit, but Best Buy claims they do not carry this kit. From whom do I order this part and does Best Buy even install the dryer with the converter kit should I be able to find it in the first place.

    Asked by auntiemi.

    • Answer The correct nozzle (for the LP nozzle kit, order part number 383EEL3002D) should be installed by a qualified technician and the change should be noted on the dryer. see the link for ordering via Amazon. ^Daphane https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-383EEL3002D-Dryer-Converter/dp/B00AMF8ETW

  • QuestionI noticed that the dryer comes with the Y connector, but is there another stainless tube (water line) that needs to be purchased to connect the dryer to the Y connector on the wall? Thanks!

    Asked by Waterline.

    • Answer Yes the Y connector and hose came with the unit. Unfortunately for me the installer skipped that step and plugged it in and left. Best Buy did correct it by setting up another install date, but the inconvenience was there and annoyed that they would omit that step. Don't let the installer leave without checking first. It was pure laziness and when parts come with the unit you would expect them to be installed.

  • QuestionOrdered LG washer, dryer and sidekick. This requires 3 outlets, but I only have 2. Can I use a 15A converter to convert the 2 plug outlet to 6 so I can plug in all 3?

    Asked by Debby.

    • Answer We have the same set up. The new dryer has its own outlet. During the installation of the new washer & sidekick, the installation guys had me run to the hardware store to buy a grounded plug-in with three 3-prong outlets. I was a little nervous but they assured me it would be fine. So the washer & sidekick share that outlet. Installation was at the beginning of October and so far both the washer and sidekick have worked great!

  • QuestionWill this model and the coordinating 4.5cu washer work with the WDP5w pedestals?

    Asked by Wheresmyphone.

    • Answer Hello there. We understand your inquiry about whether the DLGX4001W dryer and its coordinating washer model, the WM4000HWA (which is a 4.5 cu. ft. unit), will work with the WDP5W pedestals. We know that ensuring the correct accessories are purchased is important for a smooth setup. We want to provide you with the most accurate information regarding compatibility. For the current series of LG laundry appliances, which includes your DLGX4001W gas dryer and the matching WM4000HWA washer, the specifically recommended pedestal model is the WDP6W, as listed in the dryer's specifications. The design and dimensions of the newer WDP6W pedestal are engineered to perfectly fit the base of this modern laundry pair. While the WDP5W is an older generation pedestal, its dimensions and connection points may not align perfectly with the current DLGX4001W and its coordinating washer, which could lead to stability or aesthetic issues. Therefore, we highly recommend using the WDP6W pedestal model to ensure a secure, proper, and aesthetically unified installation for both your DLGX4001W dryer and the matching washer. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-7-4-cu-ft-stackable-smart-gas-dryer-with-steam-and-built-in-intelligence-white/J7G564PZP9 If you have any further questions about the difference between the pedestal models, or if you need assistance in locating the correct WDP6W pedestal, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo

  • QuestionOn the GLDX4001B Gas Dryer, where are the burners and burner-ignition devices located & would they be more than 18" above the floor. If not, is the unit listed as fIammable vapor ignition resistant for a CA garage install?

    Asked by Noway9132.

    • Answer As with any other Gas Dryer, regardless of brand or manufacturer, if you are installing the LG 7.4 Cu. Ft. Stackable Smart Gas Dryer with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - Black steel, Model # DLGX4001B, in a garage, you will need to place the dryer at least 18 inches (45.7 cm) above the floor. You will need 18 inches (45.7 cm) from the garage floor to the bottom of the dryer. The requirement for gas dryers to be installed at least 18 inches above the garage floor is a safety measure to prevent contact with flammable materials. This is particularly important in garages where gasoline or other flammable liquids may be stored or used. The National Fuel Gas Code mandates that any source of ignition, such as a gas dryer, must be elevated to ensure safety. However, if the dryer is listed as "flammable vapor ignition resistant" (FVIR), it is not required to be elevated. This dryer is NOT listed as "flammable vapor ignition resistant" (FVIR). It is essential to check local building codes and regulations to ensure compliance with these safety standards...^Ivan.

  • QuestionWe bought this dryer and have moved. We cannot find the gas hose and hook up. do you have the replacement parts or kit we need to hook the dryer up to the gas?

    Asked by DryerHelp.

    • Answer Your laundry room must have a rigid gas supply line to the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 7.4 Cu. Ft. Stackable Smart Gas Dryer with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - Black steel, Model # DLGX4001B, and an individual manual shutoff valve MUST be installed within at least 6 ft. (1.8m) of the dryer, in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1. A 1/8-inch NPT pipe plug must be installed. If using a rigid pipe, the rigid pipe should be 0.5-inch IPS. If acceptable under local codes and ordinances and when acceptable to your gas supplier, 3/8-inch approved tubing may be used where lengths are less than 20 ft. (6.1 m). Larger tubing should be used for lengths in excess of 20 ft. (6.1 m). Use only a new AGA- or CSA-certified gas supply line with flexible stainless steel connectors. Connect the dryer to your laundry room’s gas supply using a new flexible stainless steel connector with a 3/8-inch NPT fitting...^Ivan.

  • QuestionWhat is the ground clearance?

    Asked by KeiVaughn.

    • Answer Hi there, KeiVaughn. Thank you for your interest on this model. The official specifications for the LG DLGX4001B gas dryer do not specify an exact ground clearance measurement. However, the clearance will depend on whether the dryer is installed with or without a pedestal: Without a pedestal: The dryer sits close to the ground, with minimal clearance that can vary based on the adjustment of the leveling feet. Typically, this clearance is around 1 inch but may vary slightly. With the WDP6B pedestal: The pedestal height is 13 5/8 inches, so the total clearance from the floor to the bottom of the dryer will be 13 5/8 inches. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlgx4001b-front-load-gas-dryer#pdp_specs If you need more specific installation details, feel free to check the installation manual or reach out to us in a private message on @LGUSSupport. • QuestionGas dryers are supposedly cheaper to run in the long run compared to an electric dryer. I just cannot see how that is possible as my highest gas bill in the winter is three times higher than my highest electric bill in the summer. Any explanations?

    Asked by OmarP.

    • Answer That can be based on where you live, your home, other appliances in the home, etc. You can't blame your total utility bills on just your dryer. Overall, in most places, gas is cheaper than electricity and gas dryers need fewer and less expensive repairs.

  • Questionwhat does smart intelligence mean

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The appliances communicate with your smart phone and each other. The washer informs the dryer about the load it is washing so that when the laundry is ready to dry, the dryer is already preset for that load. For example, if you wash a large load of towels, the dryer is preset to dry a large load of towels. If you wash a small load of delicates, the dryer is preset to dry a light load of delicates.
