“I have an hdtv. I have a ps4 connected to tv through hdmi. If I connect this stereo to tv with red/white cables, will the sound of playing ps4 games come through the speakers when the stereo is set to auxiliary? The same with any hdmi system con. to tv?”

This depends on your TV. If your TV has audio out through aux then the sound should come out of the audio system.
