- Answer The LG Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player, Model # UBK90 is not a region free player. This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play only BD-ROM or DVD discs labelled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”. ^Daphane

QuestionCan this be controlled by an app on your phone? I would love to be able to download an app and control the 4k player from my phone since my other home theater components support that.

- Answer No, it cannot. It only has two apps installed on it (Netflix and YouTube) and does not have the option to add more.

- Answer Yes, it should work fine. You can either hook up the blu-ray player's main HDMI out cable directly to your 4K TV and connect its second (Audio-only) HDMI to your receiver, or you could just hook up the main HDMI to your receiver then the receiver's HDMI out would go to the TV.

QuestionDoes this player comply with UPnP for streaming to a PC computer? I want to be able to use it to stream movies to LINUX operating system (VLC player??) since there are no "fully" compatible movie player software available for LINUX.

QuestionI recently purchased a LG 55UM7300PUA 4K TV. I currently have a regular Samsung Blu-Ray player but the tv and Blu-Ray don't seem to sync together right. Do 4K Blu-Ray players work better with 4K tvs or does it matter?

- Answer I’m not sure what you mean by “sync together”? A 4K TV will play 4K/UHD content and SD/HD content based on the source. If you have a 4K TV but have a regular Blu-ray player, it will not play the content in 4K resolution. If your 4K TV is a smart TV (which I believe is), you can try streaming a 4K/UHD or DolbyVision content on Netflix or YouTube.

QuestionWhen I play BDs with this unit, I get lossless surround sound through my HDMI connected sound system but with Youtube I only get silence. If I set my amplifier to standby, I hear the Youtube audio as passed through to the TV speakers. What's going on? TIA

- Answer I cannot confirm the Samsung 3-D glasses will work with the LG TV. LGTVs no longer support 3-D technology LG's webOS platform does not supported by HBO Max. However, we are continually working to add the latest streaming applications, such as HBO, but cannot provide a concrete timeline at this time. In the meantime, our webOS platform offers over 600 apps including streaming content and games - including over 180 free streaming channels via the LG Channels app. Also, you can access much of the HBO content through the Amazon Prime, YouTube TV or Apple TV+ apps that are available on our platform.
