“Hello, I just received a new Mac Book Pro 16" and tried to connect it to the LG Monitor that has worked in the past. It shows that my laptop is charging but the monitor still has a black screen. Please advise on how to fix this. Thank you”

Are you using a thunderbolt 3 cord that made all the difference

Please try again later.The LG 27 Inch UltraFine 5K IPS Monitor with macOS Compatibility, Model # 27MD5KL-B does not have any physical buttons on it and with seamless macOS integration, you can control volume and brightness on the display without the need for physical buttons. When you plug the LG Ultrafine 5K into a MacBook Pro, two things happen immediately. One, the monitor will start charging the MacBook, and two, the monitor will automatically set itself up as a second display. When the Ultrafine 5K is plugged into a MacBook, MacOS automatically detects and configures the monitor to act as a second display, like it does for most external monitors.
