- Answer No it won't. It's meant to be hooked up to an internet modem that is hooked up to your internet service via a cable or dsl. There is no way to get free internet service with just a device, you have to order service and then buy a wi-fi router/modem like the Arris one I listed here. That said, if you need free internet you can always go to starbucks. good luck!

- Answer Yes, it requires a modem (cable modem, DSL, etc) plugged into the WAN port to use. It is NOT a modem-router. I've not used it for gaming but it is highly scalable and can connect many clients at once without performance degredation.
