Hello, The included cables are pre-made for DIY or handyman installation. The system can detect motion based on pixel changes in the video image, and distance will vary depending on your installation environment, lighting conditions, and installation position of the camera. The system can be set up to send you an email with an image attachment when motion is detected, and the motion events are flagged on the DVR in the events list for easy review.
