  • QuestionWhat is the battery of the control and where can I buy it?

    Asked by Bruno.

    • Answer The only device in the starter kit that uses a battery is the Pico Remote (PJ2-3BRL-GWH-L01). The battery life should last about 10 years, under normal use which is 10 triggers a day (one CR2032 battery included).

  • QuestionWould I be able to control Eve Light strip with this?

    Asked by Charles.

    • Answer The PD-6WCL dimmer that comes in this kit is rated for 150W of compatible LED/CFL or 600W incandescent/halogen. If using LEDs with this dimmer, Lutron recommends visiting www.lutron.com/ledfinder or www.lutronc.om/ledtool to see which LEDs are compatible. If the lights intended for the application do not show up in the results, Lutron recommends contacting the lighting manufacturer to see which dimmers are listed as compatible.

  • QuestionWhy do I need a bridge?

    Asked by MD.

    • Answer The Smart Bridge allows you to control your Caséta Wireless controls and Lutron Serena® remote controlled shades from anywhere with your smartphone, using the free Lutron App for Caséta Wireless. The bridge provides multiple benefits over Wi-Fi products: It is ultra-fast and reliable ensuring your lights react instantly every time you adjust them from the app or Pico remote control. The bridge prevents the cluttering of your Wi-Fi network by acting as the single point of connection to the cloud. It is also easier to set-up and enables more local control/integrations with other smart home products. • QuestionI your description, there are a number of compatible devices listed but no dependency of 3rd party hubs requirements mentioned. Does the hub support native z-wave (+) and zigbee devices or must another hub be incorporated to control them?

    Asked by AI8UT.

    • Answer Lutron utilizes its own proprietary communication frequency called Clear Connect. The Caseta Smart Bridge does not have ZigBee or Zwave capability built-in. Lutron is compatible with several third parties that do incorporate Zigbee and Zwave, though. You can see these third parties listed here: https://www.casetawireless.com/works-with.
