Q: QuestionI am wanting to print parts for my equipment. The parts very small. Like 9mm wide X 3mm height. It is a bushing that is hollow like a washer. Will this print it?
Asked by GotaDental.
- A:Answer For small detailed parts you should consider a SLA printer. The difference in detail and quality are astounding. You should look at the Anycubic Photon series printers. They are very good and very affordable. I am getting my husband the Anycubic Photon Mono SE. I have done many, many hours of research and that printer is the best balance of quality and price.

Q: QuestionCan this printer use Hatchbox PLA 1.75mm filament?
Asked by Adam.
- A:Answer Hello, We highly recommend using MakerBot filament due to the quality and tuning of our materials to the printer. You can print with 3rd party filaments at your own discretion but we cannot guarantee the same results as with our own material.

Q: QuestionReplicator -- does that mean it can scan a part and then print it? Does it have an optical scanner?
Asked by Mark.
- A:Answer No, it has no scanning capability. It has a camera, but it is a low-quality device used to keep an eye on your device during printing.

Q: QuestionWhat is included? Is a PLA spool included?
Asked by LAGirl.
- A:Answer Hello, Here is what comes in the box. 1 MakerBot Replicator+ 3D Printer 1 Smart Extruder+ for the Replicator+ 1 Spool PLA 1 Flexible Build Plate Power & USB Cables

Q: QuestionHow does it replicate or copy a part? can it do this? what are the size limitations?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello, The Replicator+ has a build volume of 11.6 X 7.6 X 6.5 IN. The printer does not come with a 3D scanner. You will have to create your own .STL or .OBJ file in a 3D modeling software such as TinkerCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Blender, etc. You can also download over 1 million free things on Thingiverse.com and print them as well.

Q: Questionso were trying to find the sd card slot and we don't know were it is
Asked by theteach.
- A:Answer There is not a SD card slot. These use a thumb drive, direct USB-type B cable to your computer, or they can connect via WiFi.

Q: Questiondoes this printer work for all materials
Asked by bneg.
- A:Answer No. It only works with PLA. It doesn't have an all-metal hot end (so it would damage itself at temperatures for other materials), and it does not have a heated bed, so ABS, Nylon, PETG or other plastics won't adhere to the bed properly (either not stick at all, or stick and never release).

Q: QuestionDoes this only print in mono ?
Asked by Colors.
- A:Answer Yes, but it is compatible with the Mosaic Palette series of multi-filament adapters to do full-color printing.

Q: QuestionI am interested in making 3d metal prints. Can this printer be used for that? What type of metal spooler supports? If this is not suitable for this application what other affordable printer for personal use do you recommend?
Asked by RS.
- A:Answer No, it cannot be used with anything but PLA. Metal-impregnated PLA could be an option, but the abrasiveness of that material would quickly wear through components of the extruder. An Ender 3-series printer with an all-metal hot end and hardened steel nozzle would be a good start for cheap, but actual metal 3d-printing is a complex process which still requires sending what you print to a processor to remove the binders used to make the filament.

Q: QuestionI have never had a 3D printer and have only watched someone briefly use one. Are they easy to use and print on? Does it come with software to install on computer? Thank you
Asked by igod69m.
- A:Answer These are very easy to use, but are limited in order to stay easy to use. If you only use Makerbot filament and are doing simple objects it is about 5 minutes between getting it out of the box and starting your first print. There is no assembly required, and the "printing software" (referred to as a "slicer") - Makerbot Print is a simple download.
