“Is it normal for this unit to see the plates, cups and interior soaking wet 24hrs after the wash if I do not use rinse agent? I ran the normal cycle, high temp and long dry option already. Is the heated element working? Did I just get a brand new lemon?”

I would call about that. When I purchased my Maytag it took 3 times to get one that didn't have a problem but I am very happy with it now.

Without rinse aid, your dishes and dishwasher interior will have excessive moisture. The Heat Dry and ProDry™ options will not perform as well without rinse aid. Rinse aid improves drying and reduces water spots and filming. Water "sheets" off dishes rather than forming water droplets that cling and leave spots. Rinse Aid can also help your dishwasher retain less moisture on the interior walls and door. It could take up to 2 weeks of regular usage for the new dishwasher to reach optimal drying performance. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have experienced some moisture on items in the top rack when I use the short dry cycle. However the long dry cycle works fine. It is recommended that you always use a rinse agent.
