- Answer I also inquired about this, and didn't get a response. I would have bought this dryer had they reported the decibel level. It seems that Bosch is the only brand that does, but there are many sizes that Bosch doesn't distribute in the US. Maytag is missing an opportunity.

I can nolonger get down to drain it after each load so I am searching for something that doesn't have one. I didn't see one on the Maytag washer so this is the reason for my inquiry?

- Answer Yes it's needed, I made the mistake of removing it myself, it helps with keeping the flow of the detergent enter slowly so as not to add too much, without it you could add a whole bottle of detergent and and over soap your clothes, Ask me how I know......

- Answer The 1 min is only an estimated time. If the sensors sense the spin needs to go longer, it over-rides the 1 min and spins until more moisture is out.
