QuestionHow can I bypass the clean washer message after the load is already wet and detergent in the machine. It tells me to empty the washer and run the clean cycle. What am I supposed to do with the load of WET clothes?

- Answer There is no warning that can be ignored. The cycle just takes over the machine and I have no say in the matter. Maytag's answer is to reset the machine EVERYTIME it happens? That isn't an answer. It is a punishment. How about a way to turn this stupid feature OFF permanently.

QuestionWhat is the difference between "tap cold" and "cold"?

- Answer Hi Abby, if you select the tap cold option , the temperature of the water used during the cycle will be equal to the temperature of water from the incoming water supply to your home. In the cold water option, the temperature of the water will be adjusted by mixing some amount of hot water.Thank you for your inquiry on our Maytag appliances.

QuestionDoes the machine go out of balance on the spin cycle with just a comforter in it? I have Cal King size bedding.

- Answer It goes out of balance unless meticulously balanced. And i can not figure a way to open machine and redistribute items without the machine cancelling the cycle and me having to start over from beginning. Why make a large capacity machine that will not handle large items?. Repair man told me to take quilts, dog beds , small throw rugs to laundromat. Hate this machine. I'm also afraid to leave the house when it is running. It has on one occasion bounced around the laundry room doing damage.

QuestionI’m having a problem I put a load of clothes in and start it and its starts sensing and doesn’t throw any water then it says wash complete. I only have cold water connected because old washer that’s all I used. does this model requires both hot and cold?

- Answer Mine did the same thing after trying to use the Afresh cycle. I still don't know why it started working again, but it appears to have had something stuck under the wash plate (Afresh powder?) that made it sense something wrong. After moving the wash plate back and forth a few times it started working again.

Questionwhat do i need to buy to install right away, does machine have water control level or adjuster?

- Answer To install right away, you will need hot and cold water hoses. The washer comes with the drain hose and power cord. This washer autodetects the amount of water needed based on the weight of the wash load after the clothes are added, the lid is closed, and the wash type/preferences are selected. It has a “Deep Fill” option, but even with that, the machine determines the amount of water used.

QuestionContemplating on buying the Maytag 5.2 Cu. Ft. #MVW7230HW. My current washer has a "rinse/spin" cycle that I use often. Does this models "Custom Cycle" do this? Or is there another option that I've overlooked?

QuestionIs it normal that in the beginning of washing the washer is washing with hardy any water even through it set for deep water

- Answer For this machine, yes, that's why it sucks. When I purchased 12/20/2024 clothes came out the wash dirty. I washed them again on auto cycle and saw it ran a full wash with some clothes not ever being touched by soap or water. Couldn't get money back because I used machine. Only way to get clean clothes with this mashing is to not use auto and always set at a higher water level than you think. For heavily soiled clothes, use max water and extra rinse to get results. This is a very inefficient machine. It takes 2 hours to not do as well as what my old Maytag did in 30 minutes.

QuestionWasher not going through cycles. Water loaded, agitator straining then stops working. Cycle goes to washing complete. Is there a belt or other part that may have broken?

QuestionWhere can I buy touch up paint for this washer? I searched online including the Maytag parts and accessories website and I cannot find touch up paint in Metallic Slate and need to repair a scratch on the front of the machine.

QuestionMy washer keeps turning on by itself. I will run a load, it will complete. And then 5 minutes or even a couple hours later, it runs a soak cycle. It will only not do it if I open the door. How can this be stopped?

- Answer I may be misunderstanding you, but the power button is the one at the top-right. The extra power button is the center of the selector switch. It sounds like after a power surge or power outage, you need to press the top-right button.

QuestionWhy is this washer not filling up with water? I’ve tried everything that I can think of but it only sprays enough water to wet the clothes slightly then it starts agitating. Just bought it today but if this is normal for this machine then it’s going back

- Answer Lol. That's what I complained about. I press the 2 buttons for "bulky items" with "deep fill" at the same time. I posted above. My name is "RapperSue". Do you find the washer goes off-balance? Mine does so often. It crashes around - and makes a lot of racket. The other 2 washers I've had over the last 48 years rarely were out of balance. If they were, it would only have been towels. I don't know how they can call this "energy-efficient. It runs for an hour or more, compared to my other 2 machines that ran for half an hour.
