Yes, the Surface Pro is similar to a PC and it is Xbox compatible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's certainly does everything I use a PC for. I use mine for work and have loaded all of my office productivity (standard Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). It loads a full version of Windows 10. So, yes. I would say this is both a tablet, but also a complete laptop replacement device. Regarding Xbox compatibility, I use a PS4, so I don't have direct experience, but my understanding is that with a full install of Windows 10 (which it includes), you should be able to turn on game streaming to your surface. For more details on how that works, here is a site from Microsoft Windows explaining how it works with this device: https://blogs.windows.com/devices/2015/11/12/how-to-stream-xbox-one-games-to-your-windows-10-surface-or-surface-book/ Hope that helps!
