- Answer It is running an M series processor which is not as powerful as the i5 but offers a longer battery life for the system as it consumes less power. There is one USB port on the system but you can always purchase a small USB hub for additional ports for cheap.

- Answer This particular unit has a keyboard included (which is what makes it a good deal). It does not have a pen - you have to buy it separately. There are no current student deals on the Surface at Best Buy (though that could change next week).

- Answer It comes with the limited app form of Office, which you can get free from the MS store with any pc. If you're a student you can log on and get the regular Office offerings for free.

QuestionSince this one claims to be "New", that means Microsoft already fixed the caveat the other ones came with? I'm talking about backlight bleed along the bottom edge of the panel.

- Answer I'm not sure, but keep in mind this is the 4 GB model and that is ridiculously low for Windows 10 and overpriced.

- Answer You cannot add more memory. In addition to being extremely difficult to open, the memory is soldered onto the motherboard.

- Answer I just started using the the core m, i haven’t used it to drain the battery for a time trial but it seems like I would likely get 5 hours with constant use.. hope that helps!

- Answer No- the dock comes separate, the dock will have all the connections you need. There is a single USB port on the machine itself and if you don't use the dock there's an adaptor for ethernet.

- Answer The Surface Pro is a fantastic device for students! Even with the less expensive Core M processor, it is still an extremely powerful two-in-one device that can tackle late night study sessions along with excellent web browsing functionality. If you are planning on running any specific programs, you will just want to be sure to compare the specs first to make sure they are compatible with the processor that you choose. Otherwise, it sounds like this might be a great fit for you.
