• Yes, as long as that version of MS Office will run on Windows 8. So, It will run Office 2007, 2010, and 2013. Office 2007 was not designed for touch, so the experience won't be as good as Office 2010 or 2013.

• Yes, you will either have to download the software or use an external disc drive. Although older versions of Office aren't necessarily designed for touch screens.
