Only AutoCAD 2014 is certified as compatible with Windows 8.

In my opinion, you should be able to put any programs on this as it has a regular Windows 8.1 O/S. This unit has 4GB ram making it quite capable of handling anything you give it. Keep an eye on the HD space if you have the 64GB HD, not much room available on that one. If needed, add a Micro SDXC card to store folders and other things on.

Yes, AutoCAD and MicroStation both work perfectly on the surface. I purchased a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI.
