- Answer I cannot confirm if it works with Windows 8 or lower, but I certainly does indeed work well with all of the games I've tried with it, Xbox or not.

Questionwhat kind of batteries can bu use on this controller?

- Answer Two double AA. If you’re thinking of using rechargeable ones, get energizer or Duracell since these typically provide higher NiMH than what the Xbox branded rechargeable batteries do. In other words, the higher the NiMH, the closer the voltage of power to that of a regular alkaline/disposable battery gives. Cheers!

- Answer Yes it does, steam allows you to also use their settings for the games. At the end it's your preference in what your are trying to gain out if the controller.
