• No. You need Xbox Live Gold to play multiplayer in games though. If you are just looking for a single player experience you don't need to be online. It you have access to an internet connection though I'd recommend at least letting the game update before playing it in single player offline mode.

• You do not have to be online to play single person games. To get updates and play against other people you will need internet access.

• Yes, you need to have internet/be online to play games. You DO NOT need to buy Xbox live to play all games, however, there are features in the vast majority of games that will require Xbox live.
