According to Best Buy policy, when you place your pre-order they'’ll authorize your form of payment with your bank, which results in a temporary authorization hold. After a few business days, the hold should be automatically released and the funds returned to your account. Shortly before release day as your order begins final processing for shipment or store pickup, we’ll reauthorize your form of payment, resulting in another hold. Once your order ships or becomes ready for store pickup we’ll then collect payment. Please note that pre-orders placed using PayPal are processed differently, and are charged immediately upon placing your pre-order.

It charged my card right away and I am getting mine shipped, so much for charging when they ship it lol oh well glad they did that cuz idk if I’ll have as much money then anyways lol Happy I actually got one after 2 and a half hours past launch that was definitely a blessing from God

I am 3 days away from launch day. Mine was charged but the money not taken. Then a few days ago the placeholder charge is no longer there. I already confirmed my pickup time launch morning n got email confirmation. So I hope nothing happens. I really would rather them just take the money. So I dont know if they will charge at store or take it in the next 2 days.

Well I was charged the full amount for both Xbox Series X and geek squad protection on the 22nd (preorder). Today, the amount I paid was refunded but then they took the geeksquad payment again. I'm hoping my preorder is still valid but the amount did return to my acct after 6 days.

It says that it will take it at the time of shipping but it charged my cashapp card immediately. Idk if that was because it was a cashapp card or not it might be different for a bank card. I just used the first card saved on my account tbh lol

When I ordered the PS5 my card was charged immediately. BestBuy did not place a hold but charged the full amount.

You will not be charged until your unit is processed and shipped. To be on the safe side pre-order with credit instead of debit so you won't get an unexpected draft.

They charged my card same day and after weeks the send me back the money so i thought it was a cancellation but next day they took it back again. And now i received a message from best buy telling me my pre order will release soon be sure my card is correct. I really don't get it coz seems they are going to make me pay twice. If you choose shipping it'll be pre-authorized then charged when it ships. If picking up at store, charged immediately.
