It's more than appropriate. it not only looks good I do not see it as an eye sore. I have white paneled walls and the protector just flows. I have attached to it a Definitive Technology 1000 Powered Sub with two spare connections for USB devices users are totally happy with how easy it is to use and quick to power up the devices. I'd say go for it.
