This cable modem is not for DSL phone internet. It is only used for cable internet. Check to see if Motorola makes a DSL modem.

With both the Modem Hardware and the Cable Companies system designed and Certified to the DOCSIS 3.0 System Specification, Complete System & Hardware compatibility is/are FULLY GUARANTEED. You need a modem that is designed to be used with the Telephone Companies System. It's called a DSL (Dedicated Subscriber Line) Service. A DSL Modem will run at speeds up to 30 MIPS. Most Phone Companies AT&T also offer a speedier upgrade to DSL Called ADSL (Asyncronus Dedicated Subscriber Line) Service - It's is two DSL Lines combined with a Maximum Data Speed of 60 Mbps.
