I was told the same thing, so I did my own research. If this is an unlocked phone, all that is required is a Sprint SIM card, which they should provide when you purchase the phone. The sales person seemed reluctant to sell an unlocked phones. He seemed more interested in selling phones locked to the major carriers. I felt he was rude when I said I wanted to purchase the Moto. He informed me I would I need to go to a Boost Mobile store to activate the phone, and if it was incompatable, that I would be charged a $45 return fee. He did not provide the Sprint SiIM card. I had to come back later and ask for one. With the sim card, I was able to activate my phone over the Boodtvweb site without any problems, and the phone works finel
