“Does this work by plugging in to the type "C" charger port on the phone and if so are you able to charge phone and mod with one cord at the same time as 1 unit??”

It covers the phone's USB C port when installed. However it will charge both your phone and the gamepad when the mod is attached and plugged in.

It has one USB type c port that will charge the mod, and then the phone after the pad is charged. Use your phone charger. Also has headphone jack
