Because this mount features an extra-long 40-inch extension, it exerts significant leverage and torque on the mounting surface when fully extended. A single 4x4 post may not provide the lateral stability or surface area required to safely support a heavy TV at that distance. For a secure installation, we recommend mounting to a standard wall with wooden studs or a solid concrete/brick surface as outlined in the manual.
