“I have Xfinity internet only 150 mbps. But I am only getting speeds of 46mbps and 5.9 mpbs. I had xfinity come out and they said it was my out of date modem. We have had this modem for at least a year. It suppose to support 150 mpbs.Do I need a new modem?”

Yes, Get a 32 x 8 DOCSYS 3.0 and you will see a BIG increase in speed (unless the bottleneck is your router).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think the problem is a bad (noise line) and the cable company is lazy and just want's you to spend more money. I would try a friends modem that you know gets good though put at one location at your location, if though put drops it's the cable line to your local is NFG.
