• I am using a surge protector with mine so you can plug it into a extension and it will work and the adapter will still work

• It is bettter to plug in the router directly into the power outlet to get best results for the DST

• The router is very easy to set up. The password is located on the bottom of the router. Plug router in and connect via phone, computer, or tablet. Yes it will work with an extention cord. I have mine plugged into a surge protector and it works perfect. If you plan on plugging the extender into an extention cord, I would advise against it, due to how the signal is broadcasted. You want the extender in an up-right position to maximize signal.

• no extension cords.... the router and the extender have to be on the direct wires from the house.... extension cords or adapters may prefent correct identification of the network/password/etc
