“I'm reading these questions and answers. I was told i needed a router. I don't have an extra phone line and wouldn't be able to plug this into a modem, so do I need something else or should this due the job of better internet, I also am using Xfinity PODS”

I found the XFinity Pods to be totally USELESS. Still waiting for them to refund the money. You might find that this router will indeed work for you. Connect it with ethernet cable to your modem. Be sure to chose your password carefuly and make note of them for possible login problems.
