• A:Answer Speeding up your wifi depends on the cable used to connect your modem to your router as well. You need at least a cat6 ethernet cable. Sometimes people still use old cables and that slows up the speeds. The mesh setup should help your wifi all around the house as expected and speed up the wifi.

• A:Answer We are currently using this router in a 4000 SF home. No issues on all three floors. Although, the streaming and gaming activity are usually being done on the lower floor, closer to the router.

Q: QuestionI am using a ATTnXdPRMS router with poor coverage. Can I plug this unit into the ethernet cable upstairs and get better reception? I have tried 2 different types of repeaters and they have the same issues. No ethernet port on my laptop so not an option

• A:Answer You should obtain better coverage, though you will need to connect to a different WiFi depending on your location. Most devices will auto-select the best choice. Adding an Ethernet connection to your laptop is also an option; just locate and purchase a USB WiFi adapter.

Q: QuestionDoes the USB actually work for storage on this unit? The linksys MR8300 does not. The linksys states future functionality with NO eta on when it will be used.

• A:Answer Yes. When I tried it with a USB 3.0 flash drive the router recognized the drive. I was able to access the data on the drive after following the instructions in Chapter 8 Page 114 of the user guide. However, the router would not recognize a USB printer when connected to the USB port on the router.

• A:Answer I just purchased this router over the 2021 Holiday season, my son had it hooked up within a couple of hours and by the evening we had almost 30 devices attached to it. 4 Echo's, 4 power strips, 2 plugs, 1 light, 3 TV's, 2 tablets, 8 phones, 3 computers and 2 gaming systems.

• A:Answer Stay away from mesh. Unless you know exactly what you are doing or having it installed by a professional, mesh networks are something more along the lines for small business offices. It is not needed for a home network.

• A:Answer I believe you can disable Netgear Armor. I probably would as my research has indicated that Netgear Armor results in slower speeds. But I am not sure as I haven't tried Armor. It was offered as an addition to my current Netgear router, but I refused.

• A:Answer howdy i know your pain i was stuck with they for years and to that i will say no it wont make the speed better just get a normal wifi router dont go top of the line because you wont get the benefits with Hughes. now some tips that might help with your situation look for wisp internet providers in your area they usually dont advertise as much as they should but if you do have any in your area your internet connection will be way way better good luck
