A:Answer When you plug in your device it must be plugged into a standard, unmodified outlet. Do not plug into a UPS, Powerstrip, or GFI outlet or GFI circuit. I tried all of them and the DST will not communicate. Using standard receptacles the DST works fine. I was hoping to use my UPS with the router but it failed. The system works great as long as you follow the rules. I have to wire up a non GFI outlet in my detached garage for my third DST unit then my outside area will be covered.
