“Can this extend a R8000 wireless not wired meaning is wired required for the Nighthawk 8000”

• Yes. I have this EX8000 device running with my Dual Band AC1900 Nighthawk and it works perfectly. All traffic running to my main nighthawk runs on the existing 5Ghz link that I end up sharing with other devices. I don't see a slow down and I'm streaming constantly with 3 other apple products running at the same time. When using this extender, Single Band routers work OK, Dual Bands work BETTER, Tri-bands work BEST. All of this is accomplished without any Ethernet cables running to the extender. Its completely wireless, except for the power cord!
