QuestionI currently have one of these Motrin’s for my streaming but does it have to connect to my router because my router is downstairs and I would like to have a wired connection to my Xbox. Does it have to connect to a Router?

- Answer I am not completely sure how your setup is but with some assumptions I would say the Nighthawk is your router and then you would also have a separate Modem. The Netgear Nighthawk router would have to be connected directly to your Modem, and your Xbox plugged into the Nighthawk. I am assuming your Xbox is upstairs (different level then Modem) so you would have to either connect your Xbox using WiFi, or run the Ethernet chord from your Xbox upstairs to the router (downstairs) or place your router upstairs (next to Xbox) and run the Ethernet chord downstairs to your modem. The Netgear Nighthawk router must be connected using an Ethernet chord to your Modem which is the original source of power, it does not connect wirelessly.

- Answer Netgear nighthawn triband has worked wonders for us with 10 plus electronics all going at the same time. Has an app for mobile devices and can give you that answer.

QuestionI currently have an Arris modem/router combo. It's not strong enough to get to the end of my house because of wall jogs. We don't game, do we still need the AC3200? Or can we get a less expensive router. House is 2,466 sq. ft.

- Answer I had a similar issue in my residence, single floor, 2200 square feet. I tried this router because my existing router had to be placed in one end of my house due to working issues, instead of centrally which is optimal. It did not seem to improve my coverage area at all and actually seemed to be spottier I’m some cases. My other router was the one installed by my internet provider and I forget the brand/model. I ended up spending a little more and getting the Orbi mesh system. Works amazing!

- Answer Should work fine with at&t. This is a good router with 3200 Mbps wifi signal so it would work fine with your PS4 if you are wireless. My download speed is at a constant 80+ mbps with no lag on PS4 and I am hard wired (with Spectrum) so this should be a good purchase for you.

- Answer THIS IS NOT A MODEM! It is a router only. I would suggest a seperate modem & router. I have a Arris Surfboard SB6141 connected to this router.

- Answer This device is not dependent on Windows 10 to operate. The router will feed its traffic to any computer that is on the network. That includes Windows, Mac or Linux etc.

- Answer All depends on what is in direct path from router to your TV. Walls, wiring, piping, other electronics will affect/reduce/interfere with the WiFi signal. If you have a direct path - line of sight- to the TV, it should work. If not you may need a WiFi antenna at the TV

- Answer Someone suggested it works by using the Dynamic DNS Service (DDNS) enabled in R8000 Advanced settings. I have had that enabled since getting this router and NAT loopback does not work. I even called the manufacturer and they started a ticket for it, but I never heard back from them.
