Absolutely, spend the money to get the latest router. Buy it, don't rent it from the bandwidth providers as it will save you money in the future!

I have tested ALL of the others out there as of Oct 2016 and they all do not test out better than the trusted X6. While the Asus is slightly faster and has a little more range, it is a pain to set up and the tech support is TERRIBLE! I am pretty good with computers and listening to these idiots from Asus read from a teleprompter is hard........ The Netgears are really easy to set up, have pretty much the same great range and speed and the tech support people are great. If your home is 2400' the X6 or X8 will be MORE than what you need and you will thank me later........
