Please try again later.no, its truely plug and play , i am on comcast and i use this kit to bridge the connection upstairs to another router < linksys WRT 1900AC > where i run my pc , personal cloud and home theater. it is also an encrypted connection between the base unit and remote unit < where you want internet >
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is it! It don't get much easier, plug the one end into the router or modem that has the fios connection, plug the other unit into an outlet by the computer that doesn't have high speed internet access, press the button on each box within two minutes and it should work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should work fine. You plug one unit directly in to the wall near your router, plug an Ethernet cable in to the adapter and the router (Cat6 cables are provided). Then, plug the other adapter directly in to the wall near the upstairs machine. Attach the other Ethernet cable between this adapter and the upstairs machine and you're all set. As long as all three of the LEDs on each unit are all green you should get at or near the theoretical maximum 500 Mbps speed the adapters provide. In any case, make certain the adapters are plugged DIRECTLY in to the wall and not in to a power strip or surge protector. The adapters may not work at all in those situations due to signal loss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is "plug-and-play." I made sure that it was the same brand as my Wireless Router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Buy this thing so long as you have only one electrical box for your house. Go look at your box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just come out of one of the extra Ethernet ports 1-4 on the back of the Actiontec and plug into the powerline adapter in the wall. Nothing to program.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, these devices are P-n-P they will find each other using your electrical wiring as conduit for transmission. You only need to connect the transmitting unit to the router with Ethernet cable (RJ45) and then the device on the other end using another Ethernet cable. Then place your Router/AP like I used to extend my network. A router (I used a Asus) with dual capability worked great for me, as a AP. You can then name this AP as another name on the network or the same name as the network it will be connected too. The Asus will give you the option of using it to give guess access to the internet, without exposing your private network.
I would recommend:
