I set one of these up at my in-laws house and it sounds very similar. They have a carriage house about 75' away from the main house. This worked like a charm. They get great coverage and performance.

Please try again later.I can't speak to the loss over distance; it probably factors some on the type of wiring you used, shielding, etc. ours runs through about 60-70' of AC cable before it broadcasts and it works fine. As long as their on the same xformer/box, i think you're ok (uber-scientific answer).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hard to know- it really depends on how much stuff you have between where it's installed and where the shop is. This extender doesn't seem to put out a very strong signal so if you have stucco walls or metal walls-,etc or if its in the back room you could have some issues with signal strength. Best to make sure you have mostly clear line of sight. Or you could find a different extender- but you will pay more for it.
