That's my fav thing about this one. The bracket on the window uses some great industrial tape so it stays well attached. Yet the camera pops off if you pull on it just right due to a clever magnet design. We've been off roading a couple of times with no issues. Also it's the base that stays plugged into the power supply so popping off the camera and tossing it in the glovebox is easy.

We're using the "permanent" mounts, not the suction cups. Whenever I park the car not in the garage, I'm taking them with me. I do push back on the mount when pulling the camera off. If you're referring to the camera staying on the mount, my answer is yes. There are magnets on both parts and the contact is pretty solid.
