The best option for the situation you describe would be using our AC powered Wi-Fi systems as they only use cable for power, and then Wi-Fi to connect to the recorder. Q: QuestionCan I use BCN extension cables to increase the 60ft. length from the DVR to the camera if so what would be the maximum length I can go? Are all the Night owl BNC cables universal with other security systems?

• A:Answer Thank you for the question and happy to help. Yes, you can use BNC connectors and extend the BNC cable for a longer run. We do advise not exceeding 180 ft without a signal booster. We highly recommend using our cables as we cannot speak to the quality of materials used in other brands cabling. Users have run into issues in the past.
