• A:Answer This system does not support automatic or scheduled file transfers to an external hard drive. You would need to manually back up footage by connecting a compatible external USB hard drive to the DVR and exporting the recordings as needed through the on-screen menu. The internal 2TB hard drive records continuously on its own, so most customers only back up clips they want to save long-term or share. • A:Answer The Night Owl 20-Channel Wired 4K 2TB DVR is designed only for use with Night Owl security cameras. It cannot function like a cable box DVR or record programming from your TV. This DVR records security camera footage directly to its built-in hard drive and plays back through the Night Owl Protect app, a monitor connected to the DVR, or a CMS software on your PC/Mac.

Q: QuestionI have 8 Panasonic cameras on my house. They are wired, via 8 ethernet cables to a 8 port POE switch. That switch then provides the signals to a Supermicro computer. I want to replace the Supermicro computer with this DVR. Will your DVR work?
