A:Answer The individual cameras do not have storage capabilities, but an external hard drive can be attached to the DVR. I would recommend a power source with a battery back-up if you're concerned about power failure because the system will instantly shut down similar to a desktop computer. I wouldn't suggest placing the DVR in the attic due to the temperature extremes (it is a computer) and possible moisture. Night vision image quality decreases fairly quickly depending on darkness and distance. I wouldn't count on picking up license plates at night without having direct view from fairly close. You can zoom, but it is a digital zoom so it works more like the zoom on your phone rather than the zoom on a nice camera. Hope this helps.
