Contrary to what Jerry said' there are plenty of Cameras that have "Night vision"options. Night Owl cameras just suck is all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just want to add my two cents. I didn't research these cameras well enough when I bought them. Like some people i wanted to place the cameras behind a window. At night the glare from the IR night vision completely ruined the picture. Keep in mind that the scene i wished to capture was a well lit parking lot. Night vision wasn't require to get an acceptable picture, but I was unable to stop its activation nonetheless. I was eminently disappointed to learn that the IR could not be shut off. However, I found the perfect work around. The C20X camera has one IR light that can easily be covered by a tiny piece of cardboard and tape. Later I upgraded to a sticker like you often see people use to cover their webcams on laptops etc. This solution has worked perfectly. Leaving the sticker on during the day has not had an effect on the picture either. I suspect the light sensor is located somewhere else on the camera. I must stress the scene I wished to capture was well lit (imagine a Mall parking lot at night). I don't know how these cameras would perform under low light conditions without the IR.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the cameras will switch over automatically from night to day.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good Afternoon, the Night Owl camera does not have the ability of turning the camera's night vision off. The only way to prevent the camera of going into night vision it would be to install a spot light near the camera to avoid having it go into night vision. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.
