“Own 780p 4 channel 4 camera system. Would like to upgrade to the 1080 p 8 channel 4 camera. In order to use the existing cameras do I need to change the cable to those cameras to 1080p? Also can sound for motion detection be turned off.”

If the answer to both of those questions is Yes, then you can use the existing cabling you have run for your 720p Night Owl system. We do not guarantee compatibility with 3rd party products. Regarding sound, you can purchase one of our Indoor Microphones to begin detecting audio with 20 ft of the connected camera.
