closest to an alarm you would get on this is if you set up the notifications. It is called an alarm, but it basically a feature on the app that will notify you if a camera detects motion and starts recording. This is a nice feature to turn on if you are expecting a package or something, but I normally don't use it. It is not connected to a security panel or anything, so no alarm noises or anything. I would recommend getting a smart home system for that, or have a company that monitors and will notify the police / fire station.

Our systems do have a buzzer that can be set when motion is detected. This would cause the DVR to buzz (alarm beeping) each time a camera detects movement. Aside from this, our Wireless NVR systems have 2-way audio so the system owner can speak into the app and their voice will be projected through the camera.
