“What is the warranty on these lenses? The site says 1yr, but a best buy associate told me that nikon gives 5yr extended warranty by default. Is that true?”

1 year out of the box, 5 years if you register the lens within 10 days of purchase
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For all NIKKOR lenses, sold by an authorized Nikon USA reseller, like Best Buy, come with a one year warranty - PLUS - 4 years extension of the warranty. So the Best Buy associate was exactly right - it is a 5 year warranty.
