Q: QuestionWhat's the diference between Nikon 70-300 f4.5 5.6 vs 70 300 af-dx f4.5 -5.6 g vr I'm tasked Fernando
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The DX lens is for DX bodies. (crop sensor). While you can get away with using FX lenses on DX bodies usually, you can't use DX lenses on FX bodies due to the sensor being larger than the image provided by the lens. You will see vignetting as a result. (dark edges on the photo).

Q: QuestionIs this lens weather sealed or resistant?
Asked by Nikon133.
- A:Answer All I know is that it has listed in the specs “weather resistant construction”. I do not really know what that means. Does any one really know? I just hope I never need to test it for how much “weather” it can resist. I don’t plan on using it in rain, snow, dust, mud, etc. I’m far too protective of such a magnificently beautiful lens.

Q: Questionwhat is the difference between this model and the one for $399 ? it says internal focusing , is that a major difference ?
Asked by tiarenee.
- A:Answer The 799 lens is for full frame ((FX) cameras, the 399 version is for crop sensor (DX) cameras. The 399 lens also has a plastic camera mount which may not be as sturdy as the metal mount on the more expensive lens. the "P" lenses are both newer versions. The lower priced lens may not be to the optical standards of the more expensive lens, but it is still very good. A lens hood is a necessity to decrease flare and hazing from off center light and that is an extra. All in all, the more expensive lens is a bargain but if you don't expect to ever go to the full frame cameras, or make prints over 13x19 inches, you will be happy with saving the money.

Q: QuestionThis lens is sharper than the 70-300 f/4.5-6.3 AF-P DX version on paper, but it never seems to receive the praise for sharpness that the DX version does? Will a D7500 with its DX sensor, achieve sharpness equal to the much cheaper DX version? Thank you.
Asked by Jon.
- A:Answer I'd say no. The optics in each are optimized for that particular sensor size. Why isn't it promoted more? Nikon wants full frame users to buy more expensive 70-200/2.8 or 70-200/4. That's my guess.
