“Auto focus issues I recently purchased the D3100 and it doesnt seem to auto focus properly at close range. I try to take puctures of my daughter (6mths old) using the viewing screen in the back but the auto focus does not seem to detect her face and the pictures are out of focus. What setting should I be using?”

It was in Auto although we did try it in manual too. It seemed to work if we werent looking through the LCD display and just used the standard viewer. In the store the LCD view would follow someones face and adjust focus but it didnt work that way at home. I just purchased the camera yesterday. Thanks
