“D3100 vs D5000 I am trying to decide between the 2 and I did see the answer posted - what does this actual mean? 1920 x 1080 (24p) for the D3100 vs 1,280 x 720/24 fps for the D5000. I am a mom that just wants to take good pics/videos of my child - do you suggest the D3100 or the D5000 - I don't need anything fancy - just good solid pics that will last a lifetime.”

• The D3100 works fine for me. Takes good pictures, Nikon lens...

• In the D3100 the HD video is 1080 (higher resolution) while in the D5000 is 720.
