QuestionIs there a 2X teleconverter available for the D3100?

- Answer Teleconverters are available for some lenses that can attach to the D3100, but in and of itself no interchangable lens camera will have a teleconverter. Teleconverters are only available for professional series super telephotos, where they're really needed anyway.

- Answer Nikon makes a great variety of lenses both zoom and telephoto. All their lenses will fit the camera, from their least expensive to their $7,000 lenses. You should be able to find a 55-200 or fixed length lense for your price range. You can visit the Nikon website to see all available lenses.

- Answer The Nikon film lenses will very likely fit on the digital camera, however, you will probably lose functions such as auto-focus. Your film camera probably didn't have auto-focus, true? Also, you may have to set the lens apperature and shutter speed manually, thus the camera has to run in manual mode.

QuestionIs it possible to turn on a framing grid in Live View on the Nikon D3100Concerning Nikon D3100: In Live View Display options on pg 41 of the Nikon Reference Manual it explains how to set a framing grid. I have tried to set it but to no avail. Perhaps this model doesn't have this option. Please advise. Thank you!

- Answer Hands down Nikon D3100, it's ease of use, beautiful pictures, 1080HD video, the list goes on and I found the price to be better for a excellent quality camera. I was looking at the Canon and just didn't like the feel or how it was all laid out. The Nikon lenses have auto VR Image Stabilization with the ability to shut it off, auto and manual focus. I think just a better camera for your money.
