• A:Answer First you need to be in one of the manual modes. Press the info button on the bottom left of the camera and select the ISO you desire on the right of the screen. You can go as high as Hi2 (which is 12800)

Q: QuestionCan I use my Nikon S9100 usb cable with this since I noticed it does not come with one.

• A:Answer I use a cable that came with my Seagate USB2.0 hard-drive. As long as the mini-USB cable cant be used with smartphones as a charger, it should do the job with D3100.

Q: QuestionNIkon d3100 70-300 lensI am looking at two lenses for the Nikon D3100. One is Nikon AF-S DX 55-300 VR lens and the other is Nikon 70-300 ED-IF AF-S VR telephoto lense. Im not sure which one I want to purchase for my Dads new Nikon d3100. I believe I purchased the second one for my D5000. Any help would be appreciated.

Q: Questionold Nikon lenses for Nikon D3100I have several old lenses from my old SLR Nikon. Can I use them? (telephoto 300 and macro)

• A:Answer The answer is very likely "Yes" you can. However, depending on how old they are, you may loose functions. For example, if your lens is from a film camera, the mount will likely still match and you can add the lens, but it would not auto-focus and you may have to use it in manual-mode (set your own aperature and shutter speed).

• A:Answer Nikon's software should be compatible with any version of Windows all the way back to XP. If not you can always go to Nikon.com and download latest firmware from their website.

• A:Answer The filter size depends on the lens you're using. If you look on the bottom (underneath) of the lens, you'll see a description that starts off something like: "SWM Aspherical . . ." At he end of the description, there should be a symbol that looks like a circle with a line through it and a number following. That number is the filter size needed for that lens.
