“Is this a CMOS or a CCD? I am looking for CCD thats not going to cost me over 700.00 if I can help it with more than 12 megapixels”

• It has a built in a 24 MPx CMOS sensor.

• It's CMOS. But I guess you should read this article. http://www.pcworld.com/article/246931/cmos_is_winning_the_camera_sensor_battle_and_heres_why.html I don't think the sensor type should be the key point when choosing a camera as all manufactures are moving to CMOS.
