- Answer The 5500 Has A Touchscreen and has a battery that lasts about 820 shots. The 5300 has GPS and No Touchscreen. Battery Lasts around 600 shots. Everything else is the same between them.

- Answer Most electronics are slightly different in store then direct from the manufacturer. They usually use slightly better parts that will work better and last longer if you get it from the manufacturer.

- Answer The Nikon D5300 DSLR camera is fully compatible with Nikon AF-S lenses but requires an update to Firmware Version 1.01 for Nikon AF-P VR lenses to be fully compatible. This update adds an Optical VR option to the Nikon D5300 shooting menu when the AF-P lens is attached so that Vibration Reduction can be enabled or disabled as needed. Both of these lens types use technology that makes them well-matched contenders but the all new AF-P lens has an edge, as not only does it autofocus fast, but it is much quieter than the Nikon AF-S lenses, making it ideal for creating videos.

QuestionHow weatherproof is the Nikon 5300?

- Answer It is by no means water proof. So take care to not get this camera submerged. However, I use this a lot for wildlife photography and has handled morning dew, moisture and light rain well with no damage. Just be sure to give it a good wipe down and do NOT let any dust or water enter into the body of the camera (when the lens or cap is off). This could damage the sensor.

- Answer It does have a built in stereo mic, it also accepts external mic (Recomended)

- Answer Nornally, if its within 30 days of return policy, Best buy wont charge you anything. If its beyond 30 days and you do have manufacturer warranty you can always approach best buy or Manufacturer for replacement .. (Free of cost, within manufacturer warranty).

- Answer Yes I'm able to transfer a picture right away to my phone simply by going to the Google play store and down load the free wireless mobile utility app . It only takes about five or ten minutes to connect the camera to the phone and the rest is history

- Answer The Nikon D5300 DSLR camera listed here comes with an AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens and an AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED telephoto zoom lens. These lenses are able to autofocus and zoom during video recording when the D5300 is set to the autofocus option in the camera's menu. The Nikon D90 is not compatible with AF-P type lenses; compatible lens types for this camera are AF-S and AF. To learn more please contact Nikon Support.

- Answer I bought the Nikon - D5300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm and 70-300mm Lenses - Black from Best Buy in November. All items come in one box. Not included are a remote, though you can buy one that will work with it, nor a memory card.
